Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, including initial assessment, ongoing monitoring, medication administration, and lifesaving interventions across a broad age range.
- Triage on arrival, identify priorities, initiate interventions, and participate in rapid response activities; collaborate with physicians and interprofessional teams.
- Document all assessments, treatments, and patient responses in the electronic medical record (EPIC) and communicate changes promptly to the care team.
- Manage equipment and medications in the ED, including use of specialized devices (e.g., Rapid Infusor, Arctic Sun) as prescribed; respond to deteriorating patients and participate in codes or rapid responses.
- Coordinate with ancillary services (radiology, lab, respiratory, pharmacy) to ensure timely testing, treatment, and disposition; participate in unit throughput and patient flow.
- Floats to other ED units as needed to support staffing and patient care; provide age-appropriate care to newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics while adhering to safety and infection control standards.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York with Nursys verification; ACTIVE NY license
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC required
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of ED nursing experience with pediatric exposure; travel experience required
- EMR: EPIC experience required
- Travel and distance: Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel assignment; locals within 75 miles may receive local rate
- Other: Valid driver’s license and address that matches demographics; ability to float to support ED operations
