Replanting Pastor

The ideal new pastor should be strong in leadership, preaching, counseling, prayer, able to work with people, social skills, reaching the lost, teach Bible studies, and have a seminary degree. Other qualities include wisdom and discernment when dealing with members who have gone through difficult church situations and the ability to coordinate church ministries. The church members are open to a recent seminary graduate and prefer that the new pastor be married. The pastor should give priority to his family and model what a Christian husband and father should look like. He should be a visionary leader who can connect with the congregation, community, Word of God, and Holy Spirit by discerning God’s will for the church and creating a shared vision. He should provide pastoral care to the congregation, including visiting the sick and responding to crises. The candidate should demonstrate and express a persistent desire not only to pastor a church in a senior leadership role but also a desire to pastor as a replanter. The candidate should be able to clearly articulate the difference between pastoring an established church, pastoring as a church planter, and pastoring as a replanter, along with why he sees himself as gifted and called to that role. Candidate should enjoy and desire regular interaction with people from diverse ages, cultures, socio-economic groups, and education levels. He cannot be significantly intimidated by interactions with people of different cultural backgrounds. Candidate should desire to regularly engage people from diverse faith, economic, age, and education backgrounds with spiritual conversation, scripture, and the Gospel. Candidate should desire to bring seekers, skeptics, sinners, and unchurched saints into the church where they may profess faith, be baptized, be discipled, and be equipped to live out and share the Gospel. Candidate should desire not only to replant this congregation but also to create a training and sending base to replant and plant additional churches throughout the Santa Maria area and the world. #J-18808-Ljbffr
