Our growing criminal defense firm is seeking an experienced attorney for an immediate hire to represent an established and active client base. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney to work closely with clients, administrative staff, and senior attorneys in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

We are looking for a candidate who can manage a diverse caseload, has hands-on courtroom experience, and demonstrates strong research, writing, and communication skills. The ideal candidate is comfortable using modern legal technology and thrives in a dynamic practice. Compensation:

$115,000

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic legal counsel by analyzing client needs and determining appropriate courses of action

• Conduct legal research and draft briefs, pleadings, and motions

• Appear in court, argue motions, and represent clients in criminal proceedings

• Develop case strategies in collaboration with partners to achieve the best outcomes for clients

• Manage a full caseload, including matters in federal courts in New York and New Jersey

• Visit and advise clients at correctional facilities in New York and New Jersey

• Supervise and work closely with administrative staff, paralegals, and law clerks

Qualifications:

• Admission and good standing in both New York and New Jersey bars required

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

• 1–3 years of criminal law experience, including trial court exposure

• Strong legal research and writing skills

• Proficiency with legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis

• Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and advocacy skills

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple matters efficiently

• Active bar association membership preferred
