ASL Interpreter

Providing effective interpreting and transliterating services, the part-time Virginia Licensed ASL Interpreter will support deaf and hard of hearing individuals during in-person and virtual classroom instruction, as well as various student services appointments and events, with flexible daytime and evening availability required. Key responsibilities Deliver interpreting services for classroom instruction, tutoring sessions, and student services events Develop partnerships and educate community partners about interpreter services Maintain accurate record keeping and ensure confidentiality in all interactions Required qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English grammar Virginia Quality Assurance Screening (VQAS) Level III or equivalent certification Relevant work-related experience in interpreting Must pass a background check and possess a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one Comprehensive knowledge of deaf culture and language
