Job Overview Vanderbilt University Medical Center – Nashville, Tennessee. Registered Nurse Interview Day for the NICU Complex Infant Lung and Airway Disease Unit. Interview scheduled for June 16, 2026 from 7:00AM to 7:00PM. Shift: Nights (7PM – 7AM), 36 hours per week on a high‑acuity chronic complex care unit. Unit Overview The NICU Complex Infant Lung and Airway Disease Unit is a 15‑bed, technology‑dependent unit dedicated to providing family‑centered care to pre‑term infants under two years of age with chronic airway and respiratory support needs. Role Responsibilities Care for infants with complex diagnoses such as bronchopulmonary dysplasia, pulmonary hypertension, and congenital airway malformations. Manage advanced respiratory support and technology‑dependent patient needs. Safely administer and monitor multiple IV drips. Deliver compassionate, family‑centered care and education. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team. Preferred Qualifications NICU experience preferred; extensive training provided for applicants without NICU experience. Strong critical thinking and teamwork skills. Passion for delivering family‑centered care. Key Responsibilities (Overview) Collaborate in establishing the plan of care and coordinate care delivery. Analyze comprehensive information pertinent to patient care to determine nursing diagnosis. Utilize the nursing process to evaluate patient progress and apply appropriate interventions. Promote health and a safe environment. Technical Capabilities (Summary) Anticipate resource needs, set priorities, and schedule activities within direct responsibilities. Handle multiple assignments simultaneously while prioritizing tasks. Adapt to changes in patient care and area needs with minimal disruption. Conduct patient education and assessment, including primary care interviews and physical examinations. Position Qualifications License: Registered Nurse (LIC).
