Registered Nurse (RN) – Public Health TB Clinic

NuWest Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a temporary assignment supporting the King County Public Health TB Clinic at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.

This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who enjoys public health, patient education, care coordination, and working with a diverse patient population. The RN will support daily TB clinic operations, provide nursing assessments and triage, coordinate patient follow-up, track laboratory results, and assist with latent TB infection case management.

MUST HAVE PHLEBOTOMY EXPERIENCE

Previous hands-on phlebotomy experience is required for this position. Candidates must be comfortable performing blood draws and supporting the clinic's laboratory needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, including obtaining and reviewing detailed medical histories.
• Perform phlebotomy and blood draws as needed for clinic patients.
• Triage patients with suspected TB and low-risk TB cases.
• Provide patient education regarding TB transmission, prevention, treatment protocols, and medication management.
• Address patient questions and provide culturally sensitive, patient-centered education.
• Order and track laboratory testing and follow up on results.
• Manage and monitor latent TB infection cases.
• Assist with patient follow-up appointments and ongoing care coordination.
• Support physicians with follow-up needs and additional patient care requirements.
• Coordinate care with providers and other members of the healthcare team.
• Support daily clinic operations and maintain efficient patient flow.
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation using Epic and TReATS .
• Provide backup support to the study RN for research screening activities.
• Monitor medication inventory and coordinate with administrative staff to maintain adequate supplies.
• Update and maintain clinic procedures in accordance with current protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Active Washington State RN license or Multi-State Licensure.
• Hands-on phlebotomy experience is REQUIRED.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or graduate-level nursing degree (MSN, DNP, or PhD) from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current BLS-CPR for Healthcare Providers certification. CPR/AED HeartSaver courses do not meet this requirement.
• Valid Washington State driver's license.
• Ability to pass required background check, credentialing, and pre-employment physical.
• Strong communication, organization, assessment, and care coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment.

Preferred Experience

Public health, tuberculosis care, infectious disease, outpatient clinic, case management, or care coordination experience is preferred but not required .
