Assistant Controller

Full job description Are you an organized and detail-oriented self-starter who strives for excellence and accuracy? The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years accounting experience with the ability to quickly grasp new methods and processes. You must be able to work independently in a firm deadline environment. Experience in quarterly/annual payroll reporting, and knowledge of prevailing wages is a plus. AIA billing or Construction experience in a payroll capacity is required. If YOU are the right candidate, WE WILL TRAIN! Responsibilities Accounts Receivable: AIA progress billing, managing lien releases, intercompany tie outs. Accounts Payable: Work within a PO System of checks and balances with job costing; Verify balances due against releases provided to expedite billing. Payroll entry and weekly processing for 100+ employees. Quarterly and Annual Payroll Reports - 940/941, SUTA, Fuel Rebate Filing. Certified Payroll/Davis Bacon - Prevailing Wage Calculations. Lien Releases, Mechanic’s Liens, Collections. W-2’s. 1099’s. Job Costing/Fuel Usage Maintenance/Company Data Management. General Ledger Reviews and assist in financial statement preparation. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years construction or general accounting experience. Minimum 2 year degree required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Systems; advanced Excel skills. Strong 10-key and data entry experience. Experience in construction software a plus. Professional communication. Pass pre-employment drug screening & background check.
