Warehouse Manager

Job Overview Warehouse Manager – Full‑time, Non‑Exempt (40 hr/week) at Scandinavian Designs - Dania Furniture, 8250 Castleton Corner, Indianapolis, IN 46250. Reports to Director of Operations / Store Manager. Pay: $22–$24 per hour. All applicants must satisfactorily complete a pre‑employment drug screen, physical (Obtain DOT Medical Card), background, and motor vehicle record check. Responsibilities Ensure all warehouse processes run smoothly and promptly. Enforce safety policies, supervise delivery drivers with the Transportation team. Load/unload merchandise into customer vehicles and delivery trucks, preventing damage. Provide world‑class customer service on the phone, in the warehouse, and on deliveries. Ensure staff are trained to safely use forklifts, pallet jacks, hand tools, and safe loading/unloading methods. Maintain accuracy of invoices, packing slips, and bills of lading. Learn product assembly; hire, train, and retain Warehouse Associates and Sales Support. Partner with Transportation Team on driver matters; supervise compliance with white glove services. Act as a substitute driver when needed and enforce safe lifting methods. Assist with building maintenance (repairs, services, janitorial, ad‑hoc tasks). Dotted line reporting to Transportation team. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Team player with good communication skills. Can read and understand assemblies, shipping, and receiving paperwork. Willingness to learn and expand job functions. Ability to change priorities based on business needs. Experience operating forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc. (preferred). Can lift 75 lbs unassisted. Basic math, computer, and POS skills with a high degree of accuracy. Valid state‑issued driver’s license. Minimum 2 years of safe driving (preferred 5+ years). CDL preferred (not required). Ability to obtain a DOT Medical certificate. Employment dependent on maintaining DOT and driving certifications. Successful completion of pre‑employment physical and drug testing. Continuous standing, lifting, bending, twisting, and standing at heights up to 25 feet. Working Conditions Regular standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping. Exposure to external weather, heat, cold, noise, and moving machinery. Occasional office tasks: computer, keyboard, monitor, phone. Work hours may include weekends and holidays, requiring flexibility.
