Role Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments for patients from diverse populations, utilizing both standardized evaluations and observational insights.
- Create tailored treatment plans that focus on immediate objectives while supporting long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver personalized one-on-one therapy sessions focusing on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and family members, to establish unified care strategies.
- Provide educational resources to patients and their families, enhancing progress and understanding beyond the therapy sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure an uninterrupted caregiving continuum.
- Maintain precise documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organization standards.
- Stay informed about advancements in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and peer engagements.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA-certified.
- A valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities across the lifespan, with a strong grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional communication skills when engaging with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to customize therapy techniques to accommodate a spectrum of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Sharp clinical acumen and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and relevant documentation protocols.
