Employment Opportunity: Registered Behavior Technician

E.O. Smith High School is seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide direct behavioral and instructional support to students with disabilities who demonstrate behavioral, social-emotional, communication, and/or adaptive needs. Working as part of a comprehensive support team, the RBT will implement individualized behavior interventions, collect and record behavioral data, and support students in developing skills that promote independence, self-regulation, communication, social interaction, and successful participation in school and community settings.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in education, psychology, behavior analysis, special education, human services, or a related field preferred.
• Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician or have the ability to obtain and maintain certification.
• Possess the ability to relate to children with special needs.
• Possess qualities and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with all stakeholders.

Registered Behavior Technician Responsibilities:

• Implementing behavioral interventions and positive behavior support strategies
• Collecting, recording, and interpreting basic behavioral data
• Working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary educational team
• Demonstrating strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Maintaining confidentiality and demonstrate sound professional judgment
• Responding calmly and appropriately to challenging or potentially unsafe behaviors
• Completing required training and maintaining all applicable certifications

2026-2027 Salary: $41,664
