Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Metairie, Louisiana

Overview

This Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Metairie, Louisiana opportunity offers full-time weekday coverage in a structured clinic-based environment supporting Veteran disability evaluations.

The role focuses on general medical disability examinations for adult Veterans. There is no ongoing treatment, no prescribing for long-term care, and no patient panel management. The work is structured, documentation-driven, and supported by a predictable clinic workflow.

The clinic is seeking a provider who values consistency, professional structure, and focused clinical responsibilities without the demands of traditional primary care.

Position Details

Location: 2450 Severn Ave, Suite 450, Metairie, Louisiana 70001
Facility Type: VA disability exam clinic
Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.
Start Date: As soon as credentialed
Employment Type: Full-time
Travel: No travel required
Patient Population: Adult Veterans

Responsibilities

Review service treatment records and relevant medical history
Conduct in-person general medical disability examinations
Complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs)
Provide medical opinions when requested
Document findings in a secure electronic system
Submit completed exams within required timelines

Qualifications

Required:

Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Active, unrestricted state license required (any U.S. state license accepted under contract guidelines)
Ability to perform focused physical examinations across multiple body systems
Strong documentation and time management skills

Preferred:

Prior VA or C&P examination experience
