Barback Responsible for assisting bartenders and keeping the bar area well stocked, clean, and organized. Key Responsibilities Stock and replenish bar supplies including beverages, mixers, garnishes, and ice. Maintain a sufficient supply of clean glassware. Replenish napkins, straws, and other bar supplies. Clean surfaces, wipe spills, and maintain a tidy workspace. Empty trash bins and remove empty bottles and glasses from the bar top. Fetch and prepare ingredients for cocktails and other drinks as directed. Assist bartenders during peak hours to speed up service. Ensure bartenders have shakers, strainers, jiggers, and other tools. Wash and polish glassware and bar tools. Track inventory levels and notify supervisors when supplies need reordering. Assist with opening and closing procedures and bar setup. Provide customer service by promptly delivering orders and answering basic questions. Follow safety and hygiene practices and dispose of items safely. Perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy cases, moving furniture, and restocking high shelves. Collaborate closely with bartenders, servers, and other staff. Specific Duties Greet all arriving, departing, or restroom‑seeking customers. Use respectful adjectives when referring to customers. Introduce yourself at the table with appropriate phrasing. Recommend appetizers, main courses, and desserts. Use the verb ‘would like’ instead of ‘want’. Repeat orders to confirm. Anticipate customer needs. Maintain tables clean and tidy at all times. Qualifications 1–2 years bartending experience in a related restaurant. 1–2 years barback experience in a Puerto Vallarta restaurant. Must hold valid TIPS Alcohol Certified certification. Ability to stand, walk, and carry heavy items for extended periods. Strong organizational sense and urgency. Good communication skills. Knowledge of beverage menus, temperatures, and basic service principles. Schedule Availability to work weekends and holidays.
