ASCP Clinical Staff Pharmacist - Evening Shift

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Clinical Staff Pharmacist working evening shifts on a 7-on/7-off schedule. This role involves collaborating with fellow pharmacists to compound and dispense medications and IV supplies with precision and care. Key Responsibilities Accurately enter and confirm medication orders using Meditech, ensuring no duplications or errors. Respond to inquiries from pharmacy staff, nursing, and physicians by researching medication information and resolving discrepancies. Review physician orders for accuracy, clarify as needed, and document all communications. Check for duplicate therapies, drug interactions, adverse reactions, and inappropriate orders. Operate pharmacy automation systems and software efficiently, including filling dispensing canisters and performing safety checks such as barcode scanning. Verify and sign off on unit dose repackaging and complete annual IV room competency requirements. Prepare compounded sterile products using aseptic techniques and maintain chemotherapy documentation. Ensure proper storage of supplies, cleanliness of work areas, and completion of USP 797 documentation daily. Verify narcotic counts, complete related paperwork, and promptly resolve discrepancies. Receive controlled substances and document accordingly. Participate actively in committees, provide drug information to healthcare professionals and patients, and assist in pharmacist hiring and student precepting. Support clinical pharmacy initiatives to improve drug therapy management and complete all required clinical activities and education. Education Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacy is required. Experience At least one year of hospital pharmacy experience or internship is preferred. Licensure and Certification Must hold or be able to obtain a pharmacist license within 90 days in the relevant state. Active membership in pharmacy organizations is encouraged. Mental and Physical Requirements This position requires sustained mental concentration and physical activities including standing, walking, sitting, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Working Conditions Standard pharmacy environment with exposure to printer, automation, and telephone noise.
