Data Analyst

Location: Hybrid in San Bruno, CA *Not open to relo candidates*
Duration: Contract through Jan 31st, 2025. Potential to extend or convert.


Candidate will have a strong background in designing and developing Power BI reports, as well as expertise in SQL, data modeling, and the Power BI tool stack. You will play a critical role in transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
Power BI Report Design:
Design and develop advanced Power BI reports and dashboards that are visually compelling and easy to understand.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure that reports meet business needs.
Optimize report performance and ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Data Modeling:
Build and maintain complex data models to support analytical needs.
Work with large datasets, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
Design and implement data architecture to enable efficient data flow and transformation.
DAX and Power BI Tool Stack Expertise:
Write complex DAX formulas to support custom calculations and metrics in Power BI.
Use Power Query to clean, transform, and load data into Power BI.
Utilize tools like DAX Studio and Tabular Editor to enhance Power BI models and optimize performance.
SQL Development:
Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
Collaborate with database administrators to ensure efficient database design and query performance.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
Provide training and support to end-users to maximize the adoption and effectiveness of Power BI reports.

Qualifications:

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Power BI development.
Proven expertise in designing and developing complex Power BI reports and dashboards.
Extensive experience in data modeling, SQL, DAX, and the Power BI tool stack.

Technical Skills:
Expert-level proficiency in Power BI, including Power Query, DAX Studio, and Tabular Editor.
Strong SQL development skills, including experience with large-scale databases.
In-depth understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.

Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
