Assistant or Associate Professor, General Surgery – Colorectal The University of Maryland School of Medicine seeks a full‑time faculty member for the Division of General Surgery, Section of Colorectal Surgery. Responsibilities include establishing a broad colorectal surgical practice at UMMC with a focus on complex inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer, conducting independent clinical or laboratory research, and teaching medical students, surgery residents, and fellows. Candidates should have a clear plan for clinical practice building, academic development, and scholarly activity that aligns with the mission of the School of Medicine. Qualifications Board‑certified in colorectal surgery or currently in training in an accredited colorectal surgery fellowship program. Ability to develop and maintain a broad colorectal surgical practice. Commitment to teaching and training surgical residents, fellows, and medical students. Evidence of a clear plan for clinical practice building, academic development, and scholarly activity. Full‑time faculty rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $346,354 – $567,168. The actual compensation may vary based on rank, experience, and other factors.
