Assistant/Associate/Professor Physician Scientist / Theranostics Clinical Trialist Full-Time

Position Overview The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting a full‑time faculty physician scientist at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level. The role will advance the department’s mission in clinical care, research, and education, with a particular focus on translational and clinical trials, and may include a leadership position such as Vice‑Chair. Responsibilities Develop and guide strategic vision for research and clinical trial efforts. Engage in translational research, including preclinical models, radiation biology, and medical countermeasures. Lead or participate in collaborative therapeutic programs such as theranostics and advanced imaging. Provide clinical patient care, particularly at the Maryland Proton Treatment Center, and collaborate with the broader clinical team across multiple Maryland sites. Contribute teacher‑educator duties, including mentoring residents and medical students. Secure and manage extramural or industry research funding. Qualifications Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology. Unrestricted medical license in the State of Maryland. Medical degree from an accredited domestic university or foreign equivalent. Demonstrated commitment to patient care and teaching. Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: Min. $287,100 – Max. $622,000 (base pay; does not include all components of the compensation program). Additional compensation may vary based on experience, geographic location, and other factors.
