Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will be a key member of the Accounting and Finance team, responsible for supporting the monthly close process, preparing journal entries and financial analyses, processing accounts payable, and ensuring the company's financial records are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This is a hybrid position based in Nashville, TN . Candidates must reside within commuting distance of one of this location and be able to work in the office on designated in-office days. Key Responsibilities Assist with the accurate and timely completion of the monthly financial close process, including financial statement preparation and variance analysis. Prepare and record journal entries related to assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses by compiling and analyzing financial information. Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Support annual financial audits and tax reporting by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Assist with the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable accounting processes and internal controls. Perform bank reconciliations, manage accounts payable, assist with sales tax filings, and support cash management activities. Assist with business registrations and ongoing tax compliance requirements. Maintain accurate accounting records and support special projects and process improvement initiatives. Foster a collaborative, professional, and service-oriented team environment. Perform other accounting and finance responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a high-growth organization. Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, full-cycle accounting, and month-end close processes. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Experience using accounting software and ERP systems. Preferred CPA designation or progress toward certification. Experience supporting process improvements and internal controls. Physical Requirements This is a hybrid office-based position requiring regular in-office attendance in Nashville, TN. Regular use of a computer and standard office equipment. Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods while performing computer-based work. Frequent use of hands for keyboard and mouse operation.
