Therapist Crisis Residence

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled Mental Health Therapist to provide high-quality, trauma-informed therapeutic services to individuals and families experiencing emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges. The ideal candidate will utilize evidence-based practices, deliver culturally responsive care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support client wellness. This role spans both Crisis Residence and MHOTRS clinic settings and plays a key role in crisis stabilization, treatment planning, and recovery-oriented, strengths-based care.

Salary posted for fully licensed applicants. Please note: MHC-LP, LMSW, LMSE, or Limited Permit salary base rate is $59,789.34

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and oversight to direct care staff, ensuring effective crisis intervention and trauma-informed engagement
• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Deliver psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, or similar approaches
• Provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered care
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with billing, legal, and ethical standards
• Facilitate group therapy sessions
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support
• Educate clients and families on mental health conditions, coping skills, and community resources
• Participate in on-call coverage rotation
• Foster a culture of inclusion, belonging, and respect
• Uphold strict confidentiality and professional ethical standards

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
• Licensure preferred: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC (higher salary range for fully licensed candidates)
• Strong knowledge of mental health diagnoses and therapeutic interventions
• Experience with evidence-based practices (CBT, DBT, EMDR, etc.)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation
• Familiarity with OMH programs and Medicaid billing strongly preferred
• Valid NYS Driver License
• Reliable vehicle
