Staff Accountant

The staff accountant position is responsible for assisting the accounting/finance department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization.

SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the accounting/finance department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or two+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Maintain contracts/grants and monitoring report files for audit purposes.
2. Work with Insurance Agency and provide necessary information needed to acquire or renew various insurance policies
3. File Certificate of Insurance and provide to the department as needed.
4. Work closely with third party auditors and assist with agency audits and fiscal monitory processes
5. Perform entry to general ledger and fiscal reports.
6. Prepare confirmation to auditors at fiscal year-end.
7. Perform monthly billing and collections of Company Programs.
8. Prepare breakdown on payment based on funding source.
9. Prepare quarterly reports for the Company programs.
10. Bill FANS each month.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such financial reports procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
