Job Summary Works under minimal supervision to provide responsible technical assistance in performance of assignments requiring basic knowledge of techniques and practices related to particular field of science. The candidate will collaborate with experimental and clinical labs to study a variety of biological and biomedical problems related to TSG syndrome‑associated developmental abnormalities and tumorigenesis as well as the role of neural stem cells and tumors in the nervous system. Collaboration with the bioinformatics team to study cancer genomics data and identify predictive biomarkers or drug targets is also required. Ideal applicants hold a BS degree in Neuroscience, Biology, Genetics, or another medical research related field. Research experience in cancer biology, single‑cell genomics and childhood diseases would be desirable. Attention to detail, time management, effective communication skills, ability to problem‑solve and work independently, teamwork, customer/client service, and professionalism are essential. Minimum working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required. A cover letter is strongly recommended with your submission. Job Duties Performs routine scientific and medical research work in science areas such as biology, chemistry, physics, or other related scientific field. Assembles and/or operates various laboratory equipment and apparatus. Records research data in accordance with prescribed procedures and discusses results with supervisor. Assists in collection of data for project reports. Reads literature and confers with supervisor concerning implementation of new procedures. May plan for, and provide working supervision to, work of laboratory personnel of lower grade engaged in limited phases of research projects. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Experience and Education Education: Bachelor’s Degree with major coursework in the field of assignment. Two years of college with emphasis in coursework in the field of assignment, or a high school diploma or GED equivalent may be considered. Experience: No experience required with a Bachelor’s Degree. Two years of laboratory experience at the level of Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent with two years of college, or four years of laboratory experience including two years at that level with high school graduation or GED equivalent.
