Transportation SupervisorNeuroRestorative, a part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. In a variety of locations and community-based settings, we offer a range of programs, including vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members and Veterans.The Transportation Supervisor maintains the day-to-day operations of the transportation department to ensure safe transport of participants and is responsible for coordinating and scheduling transportation.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below:Manages the operation of the transportation department.Responsible for transportation services budget, tracks fuel expendituresResponsible for adherence to DOT requirements including, licensing registrations and inspections.Maintains the van fleetSelects vendors for servicing, repairs and general maintenanceSupervises a team of drivers,Provides necessary staff development and training to drivers to ensure transportation needs and requirements are met.Manages transportation of clients to and from the facilityResponsible for employee schedules for coverage, and client schedules for pick up and drop offPlans daily and weekly routes, appointment schedules, and coordinates transport for field trips.Assists with transportation of clients as neededClient CareRecognizes signs and symptoms of abuse/neglect and reports to supervising nurse for follow up.Understands "Patients' Rights and Responsibilities" and serves as an advocate for clients.Performs assigned duties related to participants' care needsComplies with policies and procedures, regulatory, and legal requirements of practice.Documents in an accurate legible and concise manner as required.Exhibits professional demeanor in dress and behavior; adheres to dress code.Attends in-services and related educational programs each year.Assists in other areas of the program including activity, food service, and other duties as assigned.Supervises assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation and training. Makes recommendations or decisions regarding employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations and similar actions. Resolves personnel problems within position responsibilities.Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the JobThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job:Education and Experience:High School DiplomaExperience with elderly/disabled population in recreational or driving related field.Must possess three years of experience; supervisory experience preferred. Proficient in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and independent ADLs.Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:CPR and First Aid certification,Valid Driver's LicensePhysical in the past 12 months, and Annual TB TestCORI, Drug & Alcohol Screening, Driver safety trainingOther Requirements:• Travel as neededPhysical Requirements:Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Work Environment:Adult Day Health environment with exposure to clinical equipment/machinery, medications, cluttered rooms and hallways, noisy environment with frequent interruptions.Exposure to infectious illness, body fluids and cleaning materials.Office and technical equipment such as computers fax machines and copy machines.External and internal applicants, as well as position incumbents who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential job functions either unaided or with assistance of a reasonable accommodations to be determined on a case by case basis.Sevita is a leading provider of home and community-based specialized health care.
