Role summary: Responsible for securing (onboarding and setting up) suppliers, issuing purchase orders for shop supplies and project related work, and assisting with production-related materials. Works closely with Buyers and cross-functional teams to articulate G&W requirements with the supplier base to achieve a positive outcome. Responsibilities Issue Purchase Orders for MRO/Indirect requisitions, quotes, and MRP related purchases Consult catalogs (online resources) and other references to obtain prices and specifications Follow up with suppliers on late POs and expedites as necessary Onboard new suppliers as needed Manage VMI program for MRO/Indirect category Assist buyers with maintaining data; delivery dates, pricing, etc. in ERP system Communicate and distribute order confirmation details to functional team members Handle moderately complex issues and problems, and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff Qualifications Holds an Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education, work experience and skill development required Has experience in manufacturing environment Has good computer skills, including MS Word and MS Excel Possesses strong communication skills, written and verbal Has good problem-solving skills Has the ability to negotiate delivery dates and pricing with suppliers Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English Physical demands Light Lifting (occasional 25 lbs. or less) Prolonged computer usage What we offer you Pay Range is typically between $46,945 – 57,503 annually Please note the pay information shown above is a general guideline. Pay is based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications.
