IT Support Technician
Are you looking to kickstart your career in IT? XTIVIA is seeking an enthusiastic, tech-savvy IT Support Technician to join our team on a part-time basis. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a real-world corporate IT environment. You'll start by supporting our team with day-to-day technical needs, hardware setup, and troubleshooting while receiving mentorship and training in networking, security, and server environments. If you enjoy solving problems, working with technology, and helping others, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for team members experiencing technical issues. Troubleshoot software, hardware, and printer-related problems.
- Configure, image, and deploy laptops for new team members, ensuring all required software and settings are ready to go.
- Help maintain the internal IT hardware asset repository, ensuring precise logging of issued hardware, peripheral inventory levels, and recycled equipment.
- Assist with data security by managing BitLocker drive encryption and performing password resets.
- Help diagnose and resolve basic Wi-Fi and local network connectivity issues within the office.
- Assist with basic Google Workspace administration tasks, including user account provisioning, group management, and standard access permissions as directed by the IT Systems Manager.
- Participate in ongoing training to expand your technical skills in Windows, Linux, networking, and server environments.
Requirements
What you bring to your new team
- A strong personal or academic interest in IT, computers, and networking. This is a great opportunity for students or recent graduates.
- Familiarity with the Windows operating system and common desktop applications.
- A friendly, patient attitude and a genuine desire to help others solve technical problems.
- Foundational knowledge or exposure to Google Workspace core applications (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets) and basic cloud-based user account troubleshooting.
- A self-starter who asks questions, enjoys learning new technologies, and adapts quickly.
How you add even MORE value
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
- Hands-on experience with BitLocker, laptop imaging, or hardware deployment.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed an IT-related degree, trade school program, or certification such as CompTIA A+.
