Senior Accountant

About the Role: You will own and drive the full cycle of accounting activities, ensuring timely and accurate month‑end close and financial reporting. Working closely with leadership, you'll support compliance‑related filings, including Form 990s, and help refine processes to strengthen internal controls and efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to deepen your technical skills, including ERP and Excel, while contributing to the continuous improvement of the finance function. Key Responsibilities: Manage full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger postings, and reconciliations. Lead and execute the month‑end close process, ensuring accurate journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules for internal stakeholders. Maintain and improve accounting processes and workflows to enhance accuracy, consistency, and efficiency. Utilize Excel and ERP tools to analyze financial data, identify variances, and support decision‑making. Assist with the preparation and support of Form 990 filings, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, issues, and data anomalies in a timely manner. Support ad hoc financial analysis and projects to strengthen reporting and controls. Key Requirements: 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience with full-cycle accounting responsibilities. Proven track record of leading or significantly contributing to month‑end close processes. Strong Excel skills, including complex formulas, data analysis, and reconciliation work. Hands‑on ERP experience; ability to navigate, extract, and interpret financial data. Demonstrated problem‑solving ability and comfort figuring out issues with limited guidance. Strong attention to detail and a process‑oriented mindset, with a focus on accuracy and consistency. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Clear, professional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams. Experience with NetSuite or similar cloud‑based ERP systems. Prior exposure to nonprofit accounting or Form 990 preparation. Background in improving or documenting accounting processes and internal controls. Experience supporting audits or external financial reviews. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred but not required. Continuing professional education or coursework in advanced accounting, tax, or nonprofit accounting is an advantage.
