Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager Location: Annapolis Junction, MD (Hybrid) Schedule: 2-3 days onsite per week (may flex to 1-2 days) Duration: 2-3 Month Contract with Potential for Permanent Hire Compensation: Target conversion salary of $80,000-$100,000 Our client is seeking a hands‑on Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager to join their team in a critical accounting support role. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys owning key aspects of the accounting cycle. The position offers the potential to transition into a permanent role based on performance and business needs. Responsibilities Lead and support the monthly close process Prepare and post journal entries Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing Assist with or oversee payroll accounting activities Perform account reconciliations and maintain general ledger accuracy Support financial reporting and ensure timely, accurate accounting records Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and improve processes Qualifications 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong General Ledger and month-end close experience Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations AP, AR, and payroll accounting experience preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Great Plains is a significant plus Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills Ability to work independently, prioritize deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities High level of accuracy and attention to detail Why This Opportunity?
