Quality Inspector - 1st Shift

Manufacturing Quality InspectorMonday–Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM, overtime based on business need. Location: Union, OH – Near Dayton, Troy, Englewood & Vandalia No travel. Home daily. Full-time manufacturing role.What You'll DoPerform product testing and inspection (visual, dimensional, pressure decay, vacuum decay, etc.)Conduct cross-checks at each operation stage against prints/drawings, travelers, inspection sheets, Control Plans, and visual criteriaIssue gauges to employees and ensure all gauges are calibrated and properly identifiedCollect, document, and enter inspection results and quality recordsMonitor gauge inventory and quality-related suppliesIdentify, document, and report nonconforming productEnsure all inspections and tests follow the required inspection protocolsTrain operations personnel on updated or changed quality inspection processesSupport plant-wide communication of Quality Alerts and quality concernsExercise the authority to stop production when nonconforming parts are detectedAssist other members of the Quality Department as neededPerform other duties as assignedWhat You BringHigh school diploma or GED (required)20/20 vision in at least one eye and must not be color blind (Corrective lenses allowed if normally used)2–3 years of experience in a related quality functionStrong understanding of metal fabrication processesExceptional attention to detailAbility to determine material types and gaugesProficiency in reading and interpreting blueprintsComfortable working in a Windows-based computer environmentExperience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to lift: Up to 25 lbs regularly, Up to 50 lbs frequently, Up to 100 lbs occasionally (with assistance)Must demonstrate our 12 Expected Behaviors of an Actively Engaged Person, including accountability, teamwork, trust, communication, problem solving, adaptability, and a positive attitudeWhy United Alloy – Union, OH?Build large, custom tanks and heavy fabricationsStable, growing manufacturing employer in the Dayton regionISO 9001 certified and WBENC woman/minority ownedPartner with Fortune 500 OEM customersCompetitive benefits + strong culture + opportunity for advancementUnited Alloy is a preferred designer and manufacturer of certified metal tanks, skids, frames, trailers, and chassis built to world-class quality standards — proudly Made in the USA.NOTE: Given the nature/size of our product and customer requirements, we require a stringent hiring process to ensure the highest quality product.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
