Blood Collection Staff - Customer Service

The Blood Collection Staff role involves assisting with the blood collection process including equipment setup, donor interaction, and ensuring safety procedures are followed. The position offers paid phlebotomy training and opportunities to grow healthcare skills within the American Red Cross. Responsibilities Utilize healthcare and/or customer service skills to assist with every step of the blood collection process Collaborate with team members to transport and setup equipment at collection sites Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for volunteer donors Follow all safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations Take time to personally connect with donors and help them understand the impact of their donation Be detail oriented to ensure blood collected meets goals and regulatory requirements May drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setup and teardown of equipment at donation sites Requirements High school diploma or equivalent is required Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required DOT certification is required, you must pass applicable DOT physical and related requirements and be able to possess or obtain a medical certification of at least one-year duration Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs, good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes are required Position may require a minimum height of 60 inches to ensure the ability to safely operate Red Cross vehicles Basic computer skills are required Must be proficient with Microsoft office applications Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.) is preferred Prior leadership experience is preferred Skills Customer Service Verbal Communication DOT Certification Medical Certification Physical Stamina Manual Dexterity Microsoft Office Suite Basic Computer Knowledge Blood Collection Phlebotomy Equipment Setup Safety Procedures Driving License Languages English #J-18808-Ljbffr
