Role Description The Fleet Manager role at Simons Trucking, Inc. is a full-time, on-site position located in Farley, IA. The Fleet Manager will oversee day-to-day fleet operations, including dispatch coordination, equipment utilization, and driver scheduling to ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of freight. This role will monitor compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards, manage maintenance schedules, and track performance metrics for equipment and drivers. The Fleet Manager will collaborate with drivers, maintenance staff, and operations leadership to resolve issues, improve processes, and support a high level of customer service. Additional responsibilities include analyzing operational data, recommending improvements, and supporting strategic initiatives that align with the company’s core values. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Fleet Management and Fleet Operations skills to oversee equipment, drivers, and daily transportation activities. Candidates should possess Operations Management and Analytical Skills to optimize routes, control costs, and interpret performance data. Candidates should possess knowledge of DOT Regulations and safety compliance to ensure adherence to federal and state requirements. Experience in the trucking or transportation industry, particularly with diverse equipment types (dry van, reefer, tanker, hopper, belt), is beneficial. Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Proficiency with fleet management software, scheduling tools, and basic office applications (e.g., Excel, Word) is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or a related field is a plus.
