Our organization is in search of a full-time Sleep and Pulmonary Medicine Physician to join our dedicated, mission-oriented team that serves Veterans and their families at the W.G. (Bill Hefner) Salisbury VA Medical Center.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive patient care in sleep and pulmonary medicine, focusing on diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management.
• Conduct thorough sleep and pulmonary histories, examinations, and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Order and supervise testing, therapies, and equipment, including CPAP and ventilators.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care.
• Provide education to staff through lectures and engage in quality improvement initiatives and committee work.
• Manage non-face-to-face consultations using telehealth technology.
• Offer invasive ventilator management for ICU coverage.
• Diagnose and treat various sleep disorders, including sleep-disordered breathing.
• Prescribe and oversee medications and alternative therapies for sleep-related issues.
• Guide and educate patients on treatment options and the proper use of devices.

Position Requirements:

• MD/DO with completion of an accredited residency program.
• Board certified or eligible in Sleep & Pulmonary Medicine.
• Preference for candidates with:
• Fellowship training in Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine (Critical Care training is a plus but not mandatory).
• Preferred board certification (ABIM); board eligibility will be considered.
• U.S. Citizenship is required (non-citizens may be considered per VA policy if qualified citizens are not available).
