LaSalle Network is partnering with our client, a high-growth, specialty insurance leader where HR has a true seat at the table, to hire a Sr. Human Resources Business Partner in Chicago, IL. Our client is seeking a highly hands-on HR business partner to support one of their largest business units and provide day-to-day, high-impact partnership from frontline employee needs through senior leadership. Responsibilities

• Partner directly with leadership to align people strategy with business goals across a 500+ employee organization.
• Lead employee relations work including performance management, documentation, coaching, progressive discipline, PIPs, terminations, and sensitive employee matters.
• Conduct and manage complex investigations and executive-level employee relations issues with sound judgment and discretion.
• Drive talent management efforts including succession planning, talent reviews, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, and performance processes.
• Assess organizational challenges, recommend improvements, and provide respectful pushback and influence without authority to improve outcomes.
• Collaborate with finance partners to support workforce planning, expense guidance, and talent investment discussions.
• Build trust and credibility quickly by establishing strong relationships across all levels and maintaining a highly collaborative operating style.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Human Resources Business Partner experience.
• Demonstrated depth in employee relations, including complex investigations and executive-level ER matters.
• Experience supporting a complex, regulated, or similarly high-stakes environment (insurance claims experience preferred, or financial services industry experience).
• Proven ability to partner effectively with senior leaders and influence without authority through strong relationship-building and communication.
• Comfort operating in a highly hands-on, "roll up your sleeves" environment rather than strategy-only HRBP work.
• Ability to work on-site five days per week in Chicago.
• Willingness to travel as needed (25% to start).

• Employment Type: Direct Hire
• Compensation: $160,000 – $180,000
• Benefits (Direct Hire): Medical Insurance; Dental Insurance; Vision Insurance
• Bonus Eligibility: Eligible to earn discretionary bonus.
