Description
- Conduct evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients using evidence-based assessments and observational methods.
- Create individualized treatment strategies to meet both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing goals.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions targeting communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and families, to cultivate holistic care plans.
- Educate patients and their families, empowering them to support progress outside the clinic.
- Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy to ensure seamless care throughout the client's treatment process.
- Maintain precise documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Keep abreast of the latest research and advancements in the field through continuous education and collaborative opportunities.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
