Meat Clerk - 001 Houston-Quitman Store 001 Houston Quitman. Location: 1020 Quitman St., Houston, Texas, 77009, United States. Responsibilities Under direct supervision, the Meat Clerk provides friendly, courteous and helpful customer service. Assists the customers, cleans shelves, and display cases, cleans, fills, and rotates the Meat Wrap displays. Works with customers to take special orders as well as with the Meat Cutter to determine which items need to be cut. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods. The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store; essential functions include lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements. Qualifications Read and write Spanish/English, interact with general public and coworkers. Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence and memos. Write simple correspondence. Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to preparation, handling and serving food. Preferred Skills Basic PC/Outlook skills.
