Gate Coordinator

As a Gate Coordinator, you'll perform operational duties that help improve trailer cycle time, enhance awareness of our trailer/fleet movements, and ensure yard management system data accuracy. Key responsibilities include transportation operations and administration, using internal yard management systems to record/monitor arrival and departure traffic. You will communicate with transportation and warehouse operators to validate and prioritize purchase orders, resolve conflicting appointments, and notify them of early, late, or no appointment arrivals. You will also record external driver information at arrival, direct internal and external drivers to appropriate warehouses, schedule on-the-spot appointments, and apply appropriate processes based on the type of activity/workflow. Additionally, you will monitor and ensure the quality and accuracy of system data entry, run reports, and communicate and clarify procedures for drivers/operators. You will assist with terminal/yard-wide operational duties, identify and notify security of suspicious activities, and may coach new partners and security guards on proper arrival/departure procedures and policies.

Qualifications include 3+ years of experience in yard management and/or receiving processes, strong customer service and communication skills, conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks in a calm, sensible manner. The position requires function in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment, standing for extended periods, opening trailer doors, hand/finger dexterity, working extended hours, rotating schedules including nights and weekends, and working in either a hot or cold environment for the duration of shift.
