Program Engineering Manager, Food & Beverage (Beverage, Baking & Prepared Foods)

Job Summary:The Program Manager will be responsible for growing Messer’s sales and profit in the Bakery and Prepared Foods market segment through application technology. They will be responsible to develop a market strategy and action plan that can be executed by the Application Sales and Account Management teams. Other responsibilities include monitoring future industry trends, driving application development, managing new product launches and developing Application Sales team members. Reach your highest potential at our stable, inclusive company with diverse opportunities in a growing industry, supported by people who care.Messer stands apart because we put what matters first, and you matter.Principal Responsibilities:Grow Messer’s sales and profit in the Bakery and Prepared Foods market segment though sales of application technology.Develop segment strategy and implement a tactical action plan to grow the Bakery and Prepared Foods segment.Mange the P&L for the industry segment.Develop a deep understanding of industry trends in order to direct sales & marketing activities and identify innovation opportunities.Train and develop the Application Sales Engineers and Account Managers nationally in the relevant application technologies.Directly manage a number of Application Sales Engineers and drive their overall performance.Responsible to implement related Marketing activities include advertising, developing case studies, selecting Tradeshows, and presenting technicalOversee applications start-up activities with the Application Sales Engineers. .Participate in and approve project budgetParticipate with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with adopted environmental, safety and technical code.Required Skills:Marketing and deep understanding of industry trendsEffective Internal and External communicatorCoaching on Selling and NegotiationProblem solving/Critical thinkingWritten and oral communicationProduct/Process knowledgeContinuous learningCustomer Relationship ManagementPlanning and OrganizingFinancial & ForecastingCollaborationTeam management experience leading a high performing team. Basic Qualifications:Bachelors degree in EngineeringMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in application sales to include deep knowledge in one or more of the following industries: food, metals, industrial, or chemicals.Minimum of 50% travelPreferred Qualifications:Masters degree is a plusThe salary range for this position is $135,000 - $ 180,000.
