Position Overview

Join our team as a Part-Time Care Coordinator who contributes to the success of a high-performing organization committed to delivering superior care and exceptional service. Performs a range of administrative and customer service tasks, providing valuable support to the hospital. Within the veterinary field, this position aligns closely with roles often titled Veterinary Receptionist, Customer Service Representative, or Client Care Specialist.

Westfield Animal Hospital in Westfield, New Jersey has been a pillar of veterinary care in Westfield and Union County, NJ for over 60 years — building an enduring reputation for quality, compassionate care across generations of loyal families in Westfield, Cranford, Clark, Scotch Plains, Fanwood, and beyond. As a proudly AAHA-accredited practice, the team holds itself to the highest standards of veterinary excellence, offering a full range of services from wellness and surgery to dental care, boarding, and exotic pet care in a warm, welcoming environment where every patient is genuinely treated like their own.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service in-person, over the phone, and during high-stress situations.
• Manages lobby flow, addresses concerns, calms distressed owners, and schedules appointments.
• Handles basic medical emergencies for pets and owners, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Assists with medication pickups, inquiries, and provides information about services and products.
• Inputs and manages data in practice management software, including billing and accounts.
• Assists with retail sales, weighing pets, processing faxes, and maintaining records.
• Reconciles cash drawer and performs end-of-day duties for accurate financial transactions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in veterinary medicine, preferably reception-based, but will consider other positions in the field
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.

Schedule

• Monday 8am - 8pm
• Wednesday 8am - 8pm
• Saturday 8am - 3pm
• Other shifts and FT status can be discussed during the interview

Pay Range

$18—$22 USD
