Business Development Specialist

We are Stella Source and we are transforming the multi-billion-dollar metal services industry through our innovative estimating and sourcing SaaS platform. We are a test and learn team that fails fast, iterates quickly, and drives progress. The ideal candidate is a motivated, organized, and creative individual who welcomes the challenges of acquiring and developing new business through sales efforts. You will build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, and close business deals while maintaining an extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify new sales opportunities through outbound prospecting (cold calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and networking).
  • Research target accounts and key decision-makers to build a strong sales pipeline.
  • Generate and schedule meetings or product demonstrations for Account Executives and Sales Managers.
  • Engage with inbound leads and assess their fit based on defined qualification criteria.
  • Maintain accurate records of prospect interactions and pipeline activities in the CRM system.
  • Follow up with prospects through multiple touchpoints to nurture interest and drive engagement.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to execute lead generation campaigns and events.
  • Understand company products, services, and value propositions to effectively communicate benefits to prospects.
  • Identify customer needs, challenges, and buying signals during discovery conversations.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for qualified opportunities, meetings, and pipeline generation.
  • Track and report outreach metrics, conversion rates, and sales activities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and market developments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential customers to create future sales opportunities.
  • Work closely with sales leadership to refine prospecting strategies and improve outreach effectiveness.
  • Provide feedback from prospects to help improve products, messaging, and marketing initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business
  • 1+ years' of sales or account management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
