Manager, Revenue – Strategic Clients | Los Angeles Plona Partners is working with an elite global law firm seeking an experienced Revenue Manager to join its Los Angeles finance team and oversee billing and revenue operations for strategic, high-value client relationships. This is a leadership-level opportunity for someone with a strong background in legal billing, revenue management, e-billing, and complex client accounts who is ready to take ownership of some of a global law firm’s most important client relationships. Schedule: Hybrid – 4 days in office Compensation: $136,000–$170,000 + bonus and additional compensation Department: Finance / Revenue Management The Opportunity The Manager, Revenue – Strategic Clients will lead the end-to-end billing and revenue process for a portfolio of key clients while partnering closely with attorneys, Partners, Finance leadership, and other business services teams. The position combines strategic client management, complex legal billing, financial analysis, collections support, reporting, and people leadership. Key Responsibilities: Own the complete billing lifecycle for strategic and high-volume client accounts Serve as a primary Finance partner to billing Partners and matter teams Manage proformas, invoice preparation, e-billing submissions, appeals, rejections, and billing follow-up Ensure compliance with client billing guidelines, engagement terms, rate structures, and alternative fee arrangements Monitor WIP, unbilled disbursements, invoice aging, write-downs, rejections, and collections activity Analyze realization, billing performance, cash collection, and budget-to-actual results Prepare actionable financial and revenue reporting for Partners and Finance leadership Resolve complex billing issues involving rates, matter setup, timekeepers, guidelines, and invoice disputes Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end billing cycles Identify opportunities to improve billing cycle times, controls, data quality, and client service Supervise and develop members of the revenue team, including workload allocation, coaching, training, and cross-training Collaborate with global billing and finance teams to ensure consistent execution across client accounts Ideal Background: 5+ years of legal finance, billing, or revenue management experience Strong law firm billing experience highly preferred Experience managing complex, high-volume, or strategic client accounts Prior people management or team leadership experience strongly preferred Deep understanding of e-billing platforms and client billing guidelines Experience working with alternative fee arrangements, rate agreements, and complex billing structures Strong analytical and financial reporting capabilities Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis Experience with 3E or comparable legal financial management systems preferred Ability to communicate confidently with Partners, senior attorneys, Finance leadership, and client stakeholders Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline preferred This position offers significant visibility within a sophisticated global finance organization and the opportunity to influence how major client relationships are managed from a revenue and financial operations perspective.
