Overview
Registered Nurse – Med Surg/Telemetry, travel assignment in Rome, NY. Start date 08/03/2026 for a 13-week contract. Weekly pay range $2,155–$2,236 per week with guaranteed 36 hours. Shift: 3x12-hour nights. Work setting: hospital. This role includes floating to step-down as needed and requires strong telemetry and wound-care skills.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including continuous monitoring of cardiac rhythms.
- Administer prescribed medications, including cardiac drips, and manage IV therapy.
- Interpret EKG strips, respond to telemetry alarms, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team.
- Float to step-down units as needed, maintaining patient safety and adherence to unit protocols.
- Perform wound care, wound assessments, and participate in patient education and discharge planning.
- Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record and uphold infection control standards.

Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Nurse license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required before start
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in medical-surgical or telemetry settings; travel experience preferred
- Ability to float to MS and adapt to varying patient acuity; strong IV skills and ability to read and respond to cardiac strips
- Flu vaccine or declination accepted; willing to work every other weekend/holiday; nurse-patient ratio around 1:5
