Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job

Overview
Registered Nurse - Med Surg/Telemetry travel assignment in Rome, NY. Start date August 17, 2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,012 to $2,066 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 7:00 PM-7:30 AM, three 12-hour nights. Work in a Med/Surg/Telemetry unit with float to step-down as needed. This assignment requires NYS RN licensure, BLS and ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification prior to start, and a minimum of two years of recent professional experience.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for Med/Surg/Telemetry patients, including monitoring vitals and assessing clinical status
- Interpret cardiac rhythms, administer and titrate cardiac medications and IV drips as ordered, read EKG strips, and perform associated wound care
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team; document accurately in the charting system; maintain safety and infection control standards
- Float to a step-down area as required and support patient care with a focus on timely escalation when needed
- Maintain patient-to-nurse ratios (approximately 1:5), respond to changes, and participate in code or rapid response events as appropriate
- Support orientation requirements, including completion of required CEUs and adherence to unit protocols

Requirements
- Active New York State RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
- NIH Stroke Certification required before start
- Minimum two years of current experience in Med/Surg/Telemetry or related inpatient setting; travel experience preferred
- Flu vaccine or declination accepted; mask required if declining
- Ability to float to Med/Surg/Telemetry and to step-down as needed
- Strong IV skills, proficiency with cardiac drips, reading EKGs, and wound care
- NIH Stroke certification must be completed prior to start; orientation includes 8 hours of CEUs
