As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you’ll collaborate closely with licensed Occupational Therapists to provide essential support services, helping students achieve their educational and developmental goals.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- Valid state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Minimum of one year of recent experience, ideally in a school or pediatric environment
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining continuing education credits as required by the state and district
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Occupational Therapists in delivering individualized therapy services
- Carry out therapeutic activities and interventions tailored to students’ needs
- Monitor student progress, providing detailed documentation and collaborating on treatment adjustments
- Partner with teachers, school staff, administrators, and parents to ensure effective support
- Maintain thorough records in accordance with state and district policies
- Participate in ongoing professional learning and development activities
