Bookkeeper

Bookkeeper Position We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced bookkeeper with 2+ years of bookkeeping experience in a retail and/or restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of accounting, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to process and review high-volume daily sales transactions accurately. Experience with Toast POS is preferred, along with proficiency in QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Key Responsibilities: Perform daily sales reconciliation and ensure accuracy of POS system data, including Toast POS transactions. Review, process, and reconcile high-volume daily sales transactions from multiple sources. Reconcile merchant processing statements to daily sales transactions and resolve discrepancies promptly. Manage accounts payable functions, including invoice review, AP batch preparation, payment processing support, and vendor record maintenance. Maintain credit and debit cards accounts receivable records and ensure accurate and timely bank deposits by third part merchant processing company. Perform bank reconciliations and system reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records. Assist with payroll processing using Paylocity, including reviewing payroll data for accuracy and completeness. Prepare daily sales reports and support weekly and monthly financial statements preparation. Maintain organized records, files, and supporting documentation for accounting and operational activities. Assist with inventory counts, inventory recordkeeping, and reconciliation of inventory-related data. Maintain and update products, pricing, and related information in the POS system. Provide operational support to management and team members as needed. Qualifications: Minimum of 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a retail and/or restaurant environment. Accounting education background or related coursework required; associate degree or higher in accounting is required. Experience with Toast POS is preferred. Proficiency in QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry. Ability to reconcile complex transaction data from multiple systems and sources. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Required Skills and Attributes: Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy. Dependable, proactive, and able to maintain confidentiality of financial and payroll information. Compensation: $4,500-$5,000 per month, depending on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
