$38-40/hr

About the Role

We are seeking a Data Science Contractor to join a centralized Data Analytics & AI team supporting enterprise-wide analytics and machine learning initiatives.

This role focuses on designing, building, and validating high-quality datasets that power analytics, forecasting, reporting, and AI solutions. You will work closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business problems into structured, analytics-ready data assets.

Success in this role is measured by the quality, usability, and business impact of the datasets you deliver.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into well-structured datasets
\n
• Use SQL and Python to extract, transform, and prepare data from multiple sources
\n
• Design transformations including joins, aggregations, and feature creation
\n
• Build repeatable data preparation workflows
\n
• Implement data validation and quality checks
\n
• Investigate discrepancies and improve data consistency
\n
• Document schemas, logic, and business rules
\n
• Provide clean datasets to support modeling, experimentation, and dashboards
\n

Required Qualifications

\n
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in data-focused roles
\n
• Strong SQL skills (complex joins, aggregations, window functions)
\n
• Proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy or similar)
\n
• Experience building repeatable ETL/ELT workflows
\n
• Experience working with large, real-world datasets
\n
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
\n
• Ability to clearly communicate data assumptions and trade-offs
\n

Nice to Have

\n
• Experience with dimensional data modeling
\n
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
\n
• Familiarity with Spark or Databricks
\n
• Experience supporting machine learning teams
\n
• Experience with version control and collaborative workflows
\n
