Quality ManagerReports to: Global Quality DirectorLocation: On-site Wausau, WIHours: Mon-Fri 6:00am - 3:00pmAbout this role: The Quality Manager oversees quality systems and procedures to achieve quality production. The Quality Manager will standardize procedures, inspect, test, audit, and identify quality risks to assure good quality and standards compliance. This role will develop programs to train and guide employees in quality improvements and standardization.Key Responsibilities:Maintain and drive project work plansResponsible for maintaining all NSF product documentation and audit readinessProvide support and guidance to in-house testing laboratoryDesign, tracks and reports process metrics related to QualityParticipates in the design, scheduling and execution of internal KAIZEN events and 8D reviewsProvides quality related training for personnel ensuring that the appropriate level of knowledge is transferred to support the implementation of quality initiatives and work standardsParticipates in team projects or on information teams that share perspective and direction regarding product quality related issuesResponsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerationsParticipate in quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects and quality issues and make recommendations to improve the production process based on findings from quality analysisAssists and coordinates process validations and successful implementation of the corrective actionsInterface closely with other cross-functional groups such as our Manufacturing, Engineering, Tech Services, Customer Service, Commercial, Sales and QualityUtilize basic statistical tools to analyze for trends or issuesIdentify, develop, and implement process controls to meet customer/specification requirementsParticipate in and support the maintenance of the Quality Management System and Maintain Quality Department business metricsLead and/or support thorough investigations of quality issues (CAPA's, Non-Conformances, Audit Observations, etc.) ensuring effective corrective and/or preventive actions occurParticipate in cross-functional teams on process control, improvement, and optimization projects; participate in other continuous improvement projectsPerforms assessments of any given quality system to determine the effectiveness and dependability of such systemEnsures all quality specifications are met for any given product or procedure and suggests methods to bring equipment and work procedures into compliance with quality control standardsDirect support of project activities and all other associated Quality functionsAssist in investigations, which includes interactions with vendors or Supplier Development and Procurement Management for issues associated with raw materials and componentsThis job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assignedEducation, Skills and Experience:Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or equivalent and at least 5 years of work experience in manufacturing requiredAbility to balance multiple prioritiesExcellent time management skillsMust have excellent communication and organizational skillsMust be self-motivated and have the ability to drive projects in a cross functional environment with focus on consumer protection and satisfactionAbility to design and prepare concise reportsAbility to read part drawings and use measurement toolsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret equipment technical manuals, periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, ISO Standards, or governmental regulationsSkilled in the use of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint at an intermediate levelStrong interpersonal and communication skillsA strong desire to make work funAdditional classwork in management courses and problem-solving techniques such as statistical process control, Lean Manufacturing, FMEA's, and process mappingUp to 10% travel, in support of customer and supplier visits
