Phlebotomist II Site Lead – Kansas City, MO Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 8‑10 hour shifts with rotational weekends. Hours may vary based on business needs. Pay range: $19.31+ per hour. Salary offers are based on skills, training, experience, education, and applicable certifications. Successful candidates may be eligible for an annual performance bonus. This role directs daily activity at a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In‑Office Phlebotomy (IOP) and may lead one or more PSR on site. Responsibilities Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams. Administer oral solutions according to established training. Research test/client information and confirm all orders by using lab technology systems. Complete accurate data entry for patient registration, test orders, and standing orders. Enter billing information and collect payments when required. Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required. Perform clerical duties such as inventory control, stock supplies, and answer phones. Understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures. Verify patient demographics and obtain signatures to confirm correct labeling. Assist with compilation and submission of monthly statistics. Maintain phlebotomy logs, temperature logs, and other required logs. Complete training courses and stay current with phlebotomy techniques. Travel to Territory Manager meetings if held off‑site. Participate on special projects and teams. Distribute technical information to the work group. Perform Point of Care (POC) testing when needed and complete training/competency evaluations per SOP. Act as mentor and resource for new employees. Assist with inventory counts, report shortages, and problems to leadership. Assist with preparation of schedules for the assigned work group or PSCs. Communicate professionally with clients to resolve issues, document problems, and report critical events. Ensure staff follows safety precautions, including wearing clean lab coats, gloves, and face shields. Assist supervisors with the implementation of SOPs for phlebotomy services. Ensure facilities are neat and in good repair; report needed repairs to Group Leader or Supervisor. Coach, mentor, and instruct new employees while serving as point of contact to staff on site. Qualifications Required Work Experience Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Keyboard/data entry experience. Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime. Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record if applicable. Travel and flexible hours required to cover multiple locations, including PSC, Mobile, Long‑Term Care, and In‑Office Phlebotomy sites with minimal notice. Preferred Work Experience Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment. Experience in customer service in a retail or service environment. Physical and Mental Requirements Lift light to moderately heavy objects (1–15 lb frequently; 16–25 lb occasionally; 26–40 lb seldom; >41 lb without assistance). Sit or stand for long periods; requires eye and hand coordination. Perform repetitive tasks with the dominant hand throughout the day. Travel required. Extensive use of phone and PC. Fine dexterity, steadiness, and ability to talk, walk, balance, bend, kneel, push, pull, reach, or twist.
