Adecco Staffing is working with a nonprofit organization in Lawrence, MA to hire an experienced Temporary HR & Payroll Assistant for a 6–7 month maternity leave coverage assignment. This is a part-time, in-person temporary opportunity supporting the Human Resources and Payroll departments. The ideal candidate will have experience with payroll processing, HR administration, and maintaining confidential employee records.
Schedule: Part-time, 25 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
Pay : $27.00 – $30.00/hour, depending on experience
Location : Lawrence, MA
Job Duties :
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule using Paylocity
- Review employee timesheets for accuracy and completeness
- Process new hires, terminations, employee status changes, and monthly expense reimbursements
- Maintain payroll records and employee earnings information
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding, including offer letters, background checks, and new hire payroll and benefits orientation
- Maintain confidential employee personnel files and HR records
- Support employee benefits administration, including enrollments, life event changes, and monthly vendor invoice reconciliation
- Track employee leave requests and assist with leave administration
- Maintain HR databases and reporting systems
- Respond to employee payroll-related questions and employment verification requests
- Assist with recruitment activities through the HRIS system
- Support payroll audits, year-end processing, and other administrative duties as assigned
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 1–2 years of HR or payroll experience
- Experience with HRIS systems and Paylocity payroll software required
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2–3 years of HR and payroll experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment
- Knowledge of Massachusetts employment laws and payroll practices
- Employee benefits administration experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
