Job Description Role: Business Analyst Location: Hybrid in Bloomington, MN preferred; approximately 1-2 days onsite per week Employment Type: Six-month contract-to-hire Rate: $45-$55/hour W2, dependent on skills and qualifications Citizenship Requirement: Must be a U.S. citizen Target Start: As soon as possible Position Overview The Business Analyst will join a growing IT organization within a highly technical semiconductor manufacturing company and serve as a key bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams. This individual will be responsible for understanding business objectives, gathering and documenting requirements, facilitating stakeholder discussions, and helping translate business needs into actionable work that supports strategic initiatives. The initial focus of this role will be supporting two high-visibility initiatives: an enterprise-wide data segmentation and remediation effort and a major B2B integration and onboarding initiative involving one of the organization's largest customers. This is not a Project Manager role. The organization has an established PMO and project governance structure in place. Instead, the Business Analyst will focus on helping stakeholders define needs, clarify requirements, document decisions, identify dependencies, and provide visibility into project progress and outstanding work. The ideal candidate enjoys operating in complex environments where requirements are evolving, information may be incomplete, and multiple stakeholders must align around shared objectives. Success in this role will require strong analytical thinking, effective communication, business process understanding, and the ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous situations. Key Responsibilities Partner with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership to understand business goals, operational challenges, and project objectives. Gather, analyze, document, and validate business, process, functional, and system requirements. Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and discovery sessions to identify needs, gaps, dependencies, and opportunities. Translate business requirements into clear, actionable documentation for technical and project teams. Create and maintain business requirements documents, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, meeting notes, and decision logs. Analyze current-state processes and help define future-state workflows and business solutions. Ensure stakeholders maintain alignment on objectives, priorities, requirements, and project scope. Support enterprise initiatives by tracking requirements, decisions, dependencies, milestones, and outstanding action items. Monitor project progress and provide visibility into work completed, work remaining, and potential roadblocks. Partner with project managers and technical leads to ensure business requirements are clearly understood and appropriately prioritized. Identify risks, issues, gaps, and areas requiring additional stakeholder input or decision-making. Facilitate communication between business and technical teams to ensure solutions meet intended business outcomes. Support testing, validation, and user acceptance activities as needed. Help drive accountability and follow-through across stakeholders while maintaining momentum on key initiatives. Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting cross-functional business and technology initiatives. Strong experience gathering, documenting, and validating business and functional requirements. Demonstrated ability to serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams. Experience facilitating stakeholder discussions and driving consensus across diverse groups. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and uncover root business needs. Experience creating requirements documentation, process maps, user stories, workflows, and business-value assessments. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Experience supporting multiple concurrent initiatives with competing priorities. Ability to work independently and proactively drive work forward. U.S. citizenship, including the ability to enter the federally governed Bloomington facility. Preferred Qualifications Semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, precision manufacturing, medical-device, aerospace, automotive, or another highly regulated manufacturing background. Experience supporting enterprise data, integration, digital transformation, or business process improvement initiatives. Experience working within manufacturing, semiconductor, aerospace, defense, medical-device, or other highly regulated industries. Familiarity with data governance, data remediation, information security, or data-access initiatives. Experience supporting customer onboarding, systems integration, or large-scale enterprise implementations. Experience working in Agile, hybrid, or traditional project environments. Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, Visio, or Microsoft Project. Experience working within lean organizations where business analysts are expected to drive both analysis and execution. Rather than simply documenting what stakeholders request, this individual will seek to understand underlying business needs, identify gaps and risks, and help guide teams toward effective solutions. They will combine strong business analysis capabilities with enough project coordination discipline to ensure important decisions, dependencies, and action items are tracked and followed through to completion.
