Talascend is currently seeking a Manufacturing Assembler for a contract opportunity with our client in Rocky Mount, North Carolina .


Overview


This position involves performing standard assembly and testing processes on aerospace and electromechanical equipment at a manufacturing facility. The role requires hands-on technical, mechanical, and computer skills, with an emphasis on quality and safety standards.


Responsibilities

• Perform standard assembly and testing processes on a variety of equipment
• Use precision tools, fixtures, and measuring equipment for assembly, inspection, calibration, and testing
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
• Inspect parts and products for quality, report faults, and initiate corrective actions
• Maintain accurate documentation and records
• Follow health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Maintain work areas and tools according to safety and organization standards
• Participate in daily team meetings and continuous improvement activities
• Work overtime, including weekends, as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Ability to follow detailed assembly and test instructions, interpret blueprints/drawings
• Experience with precision measuring devices such as micrometers, dial indicators, and calipers
• Basic computer skills, including internet navigation and MS Office
• Intermediate math skills
• Possess steel-toed safety footwear
• Experience working with hands in automotive, aerospace, or related manufacturing environments (3-6 years preferred)
• Vision testing completed within the first week of assignment

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years experience in assembly and/or testing manufacturing
• North Carolina WorkKeys Career Readiness certificate, Silver or Gold preferred
• Six Sigma training or certification
• Associates degree
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of 5-S principles and participation in continuous improvement activities
