Assistant Rooms Operations Manager

Role Description The Assistant Rooms Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Houston Airport Marriott at George Bush Intercontinental in Houston, TX. This position supports the daily operations of the Rooms Division, including front office, housekeeping, and guest services, to ensure a consistently high level of guest satisfaction. The role includes supervising and coaching team members, monitoring room readiness and cleanliness, and coordinating with other departments to resolve guest requests or issues promptly. The Assistant Rooms Operations Manager helps manage staffing schedules, oversees shift checklists, and ensures adherence to brand standards, safety protocols, and quality procedures. This role also assists with training, performance feedback, and operational reporting to support efficient, guest-centered hotel operations. Qualifications Experience in hotel rooms operations, including front office and/or housekeeping, with a strong focus on guest service and satisfaction. Proven leadership skills in supervising teams, providing coaching and feedback, and supporting a positive, inclusive work environment. Strong organizational and time-management abilities to oversee multiple tasks, shifts, and priorities in a fast-paced setting. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests, team members, and cross-functional departments. Comfort with basic hotel systems and office software; prior experience with property management systems is a plus. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by hotel operations. Previous hospitality experience, especially in a branded or airport hotel, is preferred.
