HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT The Sr. Manager of Manufacturing Operations is responsible for leading day-to-day manufacturing operations within Ferrotec’s Contract Manufacturing Business Unit. This role drives operational performance, safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives while ensuring customer commitments are achieved across manufacturing sites.The Sr. Manager partners closely with Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Customer Service, and Finance to execute production plans, improve operational efficiency, and support business growth. This position provides leadership for manufacturing personnel and supervisors, fosters a culture of continuous improvement, and ensures operational processes are aligned with company goals and customer expectations.WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKELeads and manages daily manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production.Provides leadership, coaching, and development for supervisors and manufacturing personnel, including hiring, performance management, and succession planning.Drives attainment of key operational metrics including safety, on-time delivery, labor efficiency, productivity, first pass yield (FPY), scrap reduction, and inventory accuracy.Partners with Planning and Customer Service to develop and execute production schedules that meet customer demand and business objectives.Monitors manufacturing capacity and resource utilization to ensure optimal throughput and responsiveness to changing customer requirements.Identifies and implements continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality, reduce waste, increase productivity, and lower operating costs.Leads daily, weekly, and monthly operational reviews and communicates performance results to site and business unit leadership.Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to resolve production challenges and improve manufacturing processes.Supports new product introductions and production transfers to ensure successful operational execution and customer satisfaction.Participates in facility layout improvements and workflow optimization projects that enhance operational efficiency and product flow.Supports annual operating plan (AOP) development, labor planning, and budget management activities.Ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.Drives root cause analysis and corrective actions to address production, quality, and delivery issues.Champions Lean Manufacturing, 6S, and continuous improvement methodologies throughout the organization.Develops and maintains standard work, operating procedures, and manufacturing best practices.Utilizes data and operational metrics to make informed decisions and drive accountability throughout the manufacturing organization.Fosters a culture of teamwork, engagement, accountability, and operational excellence.Supports strategic outsourcing and make-versus-buy decisions in partnership with Supply Chain and Business Unit leadership.Works cross-functionally to ensure manufacturing operations consistently meet customer expectations for quality, delivery, and responsiveness.Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business.Achievement of objectives must include an over-riding commitment to quality that must permeate the areas of responsibility.Enable and Drive Change in the Organization.Not a comprehensive list of duties. Duties may change without notice at management’s sole discretionWHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business, or a related discipline; equivalent experience will be considered.8+ years of progressive manufacturing operations experience in a high-mix, low-volume and/or contract manufacturing environment.3+ years of manufacturing leadership experience managing supervisors, leads, and production personnel.Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, capacity management, and operational excellence methodologies.Experience driving KPIs including safety, quality, delivery, productivity, labor efficiency, FPY, inventory accuracy, and cost performance.Demonstrated success leading continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, 6S, Kaizen, or similar methodologies.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, manufacturing instructions, and related technical documentation.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively engage employees, customers, and senior leadership.Experience working with ERP/MRP systems; Oracle experience preferred.Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.Semiconductor, precision manufacturing, or contract manufacturing experience strongly preferred.Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Preferred Leadership CompetenciesCustomer FocusOperational ExcellenceAccountability and OwnershipContinuous Improvement MindsetPeople DevelopmentCollaboration and TeamworkStrategic ThinkingChange LeadershipData-Driven Decision MakingPERKS OF JOINING OUR TEAMWith positive values, a productive atmosphere, and a commitment to excellence, Ferrotec encourages employees to maximize and realize their potential.
