We pride ourselves on being a lion-hearted partner, designing, building, and flying the most capable and intelligent aerial systems that give our servicemen an unfair advantage wherever they fly.Position SummaryGriffon Aerospace is seeking a Mid-Level Aerospace Engineer to join our engineering team in Madison, Alabama. Primary ResponsibilitiesCreating and refining CAD models (SolidWorks) Produce detailed drawings with tolerances, materials, and manufacturing specs Ensuring designs meet performance, weight, and safety requirementsWorking closely with manufacturing, systems, test, and quality teams Coordinating with suppliers and external partners Participating in design reviews (PDR, CDR) and presenting your work clearlyTranslating system-level requirements into design specs Maintaining documentation (reports, design justifications, compliance matrices) Ensuring traceability and adherence to standards (FAA, NASA, or internal)Investigating failures or anomalies Performing root cause analysis and implementing fixes Making trade-off decisions (cost vs weight vs performance)Required Qualifications2-10 years' experience.Education:Bachelor 's (minimum) in:Mechanical EngineeringAerospace EngineeringRobotics or MechatronicsCore Technical Skills:CAD & Design ToolsSolidWorks, CATIA, Autodesk Fusion 360Preferred QualificationsExperience in Aerospace FieldMaterials & ManufacturingLightweight composites, aluminum alloys, carbon fiberCNC machining, 3D printingAnalysis & SimulationFEA (Finite Element Analysis)CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)Thermal & Structural DesignHeat dissipation, vibration, fatigue analysisUAV-Specific KnowledgeAerodynamics (lift, drag, airfoil behavior)Propulsion systems (motors, propellers, batteries)Structural design for airframesFlight dynamics and stability basicsPayload integration (cameras, sensors, LiDAR)Software & Programming (helpful)MATLAB / SimulinkPython or C++ (for simulations, automation)Familiarity with flight control stacks like PX4 or ArduPilot Hands-on ExperienceBuilding drones (personal or academic projects)Wind tunnel testing or prototype validationWorking with embedded systems or electronics (basic level) Certifications (optional but valuable)FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (U.S.)GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & TolerancingSoft SkillsProblem-solving and troubleshootingCross -functional teamwork (electrical + software engineers)Documentation and communication JOB LOCATIONMadison, Alabama, United StatesPOSITION TYPEFull- Time/RegularCOMPENSATION/BENEFITSCompetitive Salary/Comprehensive Benefits PackageUS CITIZENSHIP REQUIREDYesABILITY TO OBTAIN SECURITY CLEARANCEYes
